FHM. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think being unable to name a single hot famous girl makes me somewhat unsuitable to work there. The interviewer, David Moynihan, agreed.

Popjustice. After chatting with Peter Robinson at a pop concert he invited me down for a chat about working for him. During the interview I said the word ‘um’ 734 times and the word ‘er’ 3,422 times. We haven’t spoken since.

River Cottage. After a 3 hour train journey, a 35 minute cab ride and a 25 minute interview it was 7 minutes after I’d left that I received an email to say I hadn’t got the job.
